Student visa has two main courses.
The target audience is different, so please check the contents carefully.

There are two types of student visas.
One is for Secondary High School or Senior High School students.
The other one is for those who have graduated from Senior High School or College.

Application Guidelines for International Students for the First Semester of 2022

【Application Requirements】
  1.Applicants must aspire to enter a Japanese university and work diligently toward that goal.

  2.Applicants must comply with Japanese laws, school regulations, and dormitory regulations

  3.Applicants who can prove that they have studied Japanese for at least one year

  4.Applicants who have graduated from a junior high school outside of Japan or are enrolled in a high school outside of Japan.

  5.Applicants who are in good physical and mental health.

  (1) Applicants who wish to transfer to the third grade (1 year of study abroad) must meet all of the following requirements
  from No.① to ④ in addition to the above application requirements.

  ①Applicants must have been born between April 2, 2002 and April 1, 2005.
  ②Applicants who have completed at least 11 years of school education outside Japan.
  ③Applicants who have completed the second grade of high school by March 31, 2022.
  ④Applicants who have obtained N2 or higher or have equivalent Japanese language skills.

  (2) Applicants who wish to enter the second year (2 years of study abroad) must meet all of the following requirements
  from No.① to ④  in addition to those listed above.
  ①Applicants who were born between April 2, 2003 and April 1, 2006.
  ②Applicants who have completed at least 10 years of school education outside Japan.
  ③ Applicants who have completed the first grade of high school by June 30, 2022.  
  ④Applicants who have obtained N3 or higher or have equivalent Japanese language skills.

  (3) Applicants who wish to enter the first year (3 years of study abroad) must meet all of the following requirements
  from No.① to ④ in addition to the above.
  ①Applicants must have been born between April 2, 2004 and April 1, 2007.
  ②Applicants who have completed at least 9 years of school education outside Japan.
  ③Applicants who have graduated from junior high school by March 31, 2022.
  ④Applicants who have obtained N4 or higher or have equivalent Japanese language skills.

【Term of Study】

  1 year / 2 years / 3 years (Enrollment in April 2022)

【Documents to be submitted at the time of application】

  Application form for studying abroad / Statement of reasons for studying abroad / Academic transcript of the most recent year completed / Interview sheet

【Examination Subjects】

  Japanese language、English language、Mathematics、Application Screening Process、Interview

  *The written test and interview may be conducted online and multiple times.

【Date of Examination】

  Scheduled for October 2021

【Announcement of result】

  About 2 weeks after the examination

【Document Procedures after Acceptance
 (Documents Required for Application for Certificate of Eligibility)】

   All documents listed below must be accompanied by Japanese translations.

  1. Application for Study Abroad (designated form)
  2. Statement of Reason for Studying Abroad (designated form)
  3. Statement of Financial Support (designated form)
  4. Certificate of kinship to the person paying expenses
  5. Certificate of Employment (If you are self-employed, a copy of your business license)
  6. Certificate of Income
  7. Certificate of bank balance
  8. Copy of bank passbook or bank card record (for the past one year)
  9. Certificate of graduation from junior high school(or evidences of scheduled graduation)
  10. Certificate of enrollment (high school/junior high school)
  11. Transcript of Academic Record (2 copies)
  12. Certificate of Japanese Language Study

  Note: ※ Should be submitted only if possible

【Notes on documents to be submitted】

  (1) Documents should be prepared on A4 size paper whenever possible.

  (2) Certificates issued by schools, companies, etc., must be on letterhead (special paper with the name, address, telephone number, fax number, e-mail address, etc. of the school/company, etc., printed on it).

  (3) Documents (with dates) are only valid for three months from the date of issue, so please make sure they are as recent as possible.

  (4) The Japanese translation shall be signed and stamped by the translator, and the date of a translation shall be clearly indicated.

【Procedures for coming to Japan】

  → Submission of necessary documents from overseas agents to the Ikuei International Center

  → Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Immigration Bureau, Ministry of Justice, Japan

  → The student visa will be issued at the nearest Japanese embassy or consulate. 

  → Travel to Japan

【Study abroad Fee(School dormitory stay)】

  1.(April 2022 – March 2023) 2,000,000 yen for 1 year in the initial year

  2.(From the second year) 2,000,000 yen for 1 year

  *The administrative fee for each Partner agent will be determined individually.

  What’s included in the cost

  • Dormitory fee (including bedding lease and basic utilities)
  • Meals (breakfast and dinner)
  • Tuition
  • Textbooks
  • Uniform
  • National health insurance fee
  • International Student Special Courses/Excursion Fees

  What is not included in the cost

  • Other expenses (supplementary teaching materials, study tour expenses, etc.)
  • Lunch
  • Food expenses during the period when the cafeteria is closed (Sundays, holidays, New Year’s, and Obon vacations)

  Lighting and heating costs over designated amount(Dormitory)

【Study Abroad Fee(Host Family Stay)】

  1.(April 2022 – March 2023) 2,200,000 yen for 1 year in the initial year

  2.(From the second year) 2,200,000 yen for 1 year(2,000,000 yen per year if you move to the school dormitory)

  *Each agent’s administrative fee is determined individually.

What is included in the cost

  • Accommodation fee (including bedding lease and basic utility fee)
  • Meals (breakfast, dinner, and lunch on weekends and holidays)
  • Tuition
  • Textbooks
  • Uniform
  • National health insurance tax
  • International Student Special Courses/Excursion Fees

  What is not included in the cost

  • Other expenses (supplementary teaching materials, study tour expenses, etc.)
  • Lunch

【About Benefits】

  Benefit: Benefit B: Tuition waiver (up to 3 years

  Up to 36 months of the prescribed tuition (33,000 yen) minus the school expense subsidy

  The first six months of the second semester of each academic year for transfer students are not eligible for tuition waiver.

  Application Requirements: Applicants who meet the following requirements (1) and (2) or (3)

  (1) Applicants who obtained N1(At the time of admission)

  (2) Applicant who are enrolled in a sister/affiliated school overseas, have a letter of recommendation from the head of the school, and have been approved by the Principal of Sendai Ikuei Gakuen.

  (3) Applicant who have received a recommendation from a public organization equivalent to an overseas sister school/affiliated school, and who have been approved by the Principal of Sendai Ikuei Gakuen.

  Even if a person falls under any of the items in the preceding paragraph, an applicant who falls under any of the following items may not be eligible for the reduction or exemption.

  (1) Applicants who have been disciplined within one year as stipulated in Article 31 of the School Regulations of Sendai Ikuei Gakuen High School Secondary School.

  (2) Applicants who have not improved even after the period specified in the previous item has passed.

  (3) Applicants who the Principal deems inappropriate to approve the reduction or exemption.

 

【Special note】

  1, The decision on whether or not to accept a student for transfer will be made by the school principal after consultation with the Foreign Language Course and the International Division, based on the results of interviews with students and their parents conducted by two or more faculty members and the transfer examination (Japanese, English, mathematics, and document review).

  2, The final decision on the course to which the student will belong will be made by the school principal after consultation between the Foreign Language Course and the International Division, taking into consideration the student’s academic ability, attitude toward study and life, Japanese language ability, and other factors.

  3, Students must always follow the school’s instructions regarding the dormitory in which they are staying, and any changes to the dormitory in which they are staying. Students who repeatedly violate the dormitory rules and show no improvement may be expelled from the dormitory.

  4, The fee for the first year of study abroad must be paid prior to the student’s arrival in Japan, and the fee for each subsequent year must be paid into the school’s bank account by the last day of the month prior to the start of that year (the last day of March). The bank transfer fee is the responsibility of the payer.

  5, When a student withdraws from the school, the school fees already paid for the current school year will not be returned in principle, regardless of the reason. However, any remaining dormitory fees, food fees, and other miscellaneous fees will be returned in principle.

  6, In the event that an emergency medical procedure such as surgery or blood transfusion is required in Japan due to illness or injury, and the consent of the guardian cannot be obtained, the school principal will make the decision.

  7, For the recommendation of a designated university, the rules set by the school (bylaws of the University Entrance Examination Recommendation Committee) shall be followed based on the student’s grades, attendance, disciplinary actions, and the recommendation of the faculty.
